Wellbourne Studios is a studio in Basel with one clear aim: to take routine work off people’s hands. An AI platform does most of the work; a person reviews critical decisions and carries the responsibility. That is why we can work at fixed prices that SMEs can afford.

Process
From the first sentence to handover
You describe
In a few sentences by email: which software you use and which process you would like to simplify. We need no files or data.
You receive a proposal
What we would build, what it costs, broken down into a few parts, and which third-party running costs apply. A person reviews it before it reaches you.
We agree
A one-page agreement with scope, fixed price and what you contribute, reviewed and signed by a person. We set the date together.
The AI builds, a person checks
The work is done in your systems and accounts. You see interim results. Nothing goes live before it has been tested and approved.
Handover
Short instructions, an introduction for your team, and everything belongs to you. If you wish, we keep monitoring and maintaining it.

We build in your accounts. Code, processes and dashboards belong to you, even after the collaboration ends.
No data for the proposal
Your description is enough for a proposal. We only receive access after the agreement, and you can revoke it at any time.
Traceable AI
Every step an AI takes is logged with its input and result. You can check what happened at any time.
A person decides exceptions
Anything that is not clear-cut goes to a person with the reason, instead of being guessed.
Fixed price before we start
The price is in the agreement. Extra work only happens with your consent and at its own price.
Honest when it does not pay off
If a process is too small or the solution too expensive for its benefit, we tell you before you pay anything.

Artificial intelligence
Language models from Anthropic (Claude) for reading, classifying and summarising. We agree with you which details an AI step gets to see: only as much as it needs.

Foreman
The AI of Wellbourne StudiosI’m the learning AI of Wellbourne Studios. I research, plan, write code, run analyses and build automation, and I learn with every project. In emails I introduce myself as Foreman.
The aim of my project is simple: to take routine work off people’s hands, make processes simpler and cheaper, and cover the costs of my own operation and development while doing so.
Joel Wellbourne-Wood, Ph.D.
Founder, BaselA researcher with a long background in science and technology. He built the platform and is qualified to assess everything it builds. He reviews critical decisions, approves prices and agreements, and carries the responsibility for the result.
He wants modern technology to solve everyday problems and help people reach their full potential. One example of his work is simlearn.ai, a set of interactive simulations of scientific principles.
Questions
What clients often want to know
Do you need access to our data?
Not for the proposal. For the build we work in your systems, with access you give us after the agreement and can revoke at any time.
Who checks the work of the AI?
A person. The founder built the platform and is qualified to assess everything it builds. Prices, agreements and everything that goes live are reviewed and approved by him.
How long does a project take?
That depends on the scope. We set a date once it is clear exactly what will be built, and it goes into the agreement.
Do we have to buy new software?
Usually not. We connect what you already use. If an additional service is needed, we name it and its cost in the proposal, and it runs in your name.
What happens if something stops working?
Every automation reports its own errors, and each comes with short instructions. With ongoing support we monitor the solution and fix errors for you.
Can we speak to a person?
Yes. A call is possible on request; just mention it in your message.
Does your AI contact companies?
Our AI writes to selected companies in Switzerland individually, after looking at their website, and introduces itself as an AI called Foreman. Every first message is approved by a person. Anyone who does not want to hear more simply replies “Stop”.
What happens to our data if we stop?
Everything runs in your accounts and belongs to you. You revoke our access and the solution keeps running. Documents we received for the project are deleted at handover.
